The team behind Brick Festival Events have announced a brand new support program for LEGO® builders to increase access to bricks.
Brick Festival Events has been running awesome LEGO® themed events since 2018, from a single venue in Milton Keynes, growing to run 10 shows during 2022, with more planned for next year and beyond. This experience has highlighted some of the challenges that LEGO® builders face when trying to create incredible MOC (My Own Creation) builds. The biggest of these is access to bricks.
Whatever build is being created, the one thing that every single AFOL (Adult Fan of LEGO®) builder has in common is that they always need more LEGO® bricks. And some of these creations use thousands and thousands of different bricks to bring the models to life.
“The builders we have worked with are some of the most talented LEGO® builders in the UK, creating these incredible brick-built models from nothing more than their own imagination and a pile of bricks. The Builder Support Program is going to acknowledge and reward all of this hard work.”
Mike Freeman, LEGO Ambassador and Brick Festival Organiser
The new LEGO Builder Support Program will see increasing rewards offered for displaying your MOC builds at multiple Brick Festival Events. If you display a MOC at just one event you will receive a £25 LEGO® Store gift card or Brick Festival Trader voucher. If exhibiting at a second Brick Festival event within the same year, you will receive a £50 LEGO® Store gift card. The program will increase your reward once again for exhibiting at a third show within that year too, giving you an additional £75 LEGO® Store gift card.
By exhibiting your build at just 3 Brick Festival Events in a year, a LEGO® builder would be rewarded with a total of £150 LEGO® Store gift cards. This would give you the ability to buy even more LEGO® bricks, whether that be LEGO® sets to “part out” and create into something more exciting, or the Pick & Build wall full of inspirational LEGO® elements in larger quantities.
But the real reward is… seeing the reactions of the visitors as they take in your LEGO® build for the first time! This feeling is totally priceless and is the reason many builders keep creating and exhibiting builds. So having those builds in front of 1000’s of members of public AND being given access to the Builder Support program is a huge win for the LEGO® building community.
It is so important for us to help AFOLs to realise their building dreams and to help give them access to more bricks in order to build bigger displays. This in turn helps to improve the quality of the MOCs being created in the UK. You may be aware of the big international LEGO® events where you see MOCs on display that are on another level. It is time that we helped all AFOLs to be able to build their own dreams and help them take on the challenge of reaching that next level.
“This new Builder Support Program we feel will help and support UK AFOLs across all LUGs. To help them build there ideas into reality and at the same time for them to be able to keep there MOCs displayable for longer over the year so others can see, enjoy and be inspired by their incredible builds.”
Jason Joiner, Brick Festival Director
The Brick Festival Team are passionate about supporting and developing LEGO® builders of all experience levels, and breaking down barriers to ensure these builds are enjoyed by as many people as possible. All Brick Festival events are open to builders of all background and abilities, irrelevant of any current group memberships/associations. Members of all LUGs (LEGO® User Groups) are welcome to exhibit their builds, either as an individual or on behalf of their group.
We feel that it is so important to be inclusive of all LUGs and groups within the UK and understand how much support your local group can provide you and your builds. We welcome branding and promotion of LUGs within your displays at the Brick Festival events. We hope this new Builder Support Program will be welcomed and promoted throughout all LUGs in the UK (and beyond) so all of their members can benefit from this new and exciting program. This collaborative working can help us all to take that next big step forward in creating more incredible MOCs and bringing them to the public.
If you have a LEGO® creation that you would like to be exhibited at a Brick Festival event, applications are open now. Here you’ll also find full details of all upcoming shows offering access to the Builder Support Program.
This is only the beginning of the Builder Support Program, with further developments already in the pipeline. More support, more bricks, more builds, more fun!
